WidowPC Gaming Computers - GeForce 7800 GTX
The GeForce 7800 GTX has made it much anticipated release as of a few hours ago and has it made a splash! Every single review has raved on the amazing technology improvements and incredible speed records.
 This bad boy is jammed with 300 million transistors and is therefore one of the most advanced, powerful graphics processors ever designed. It's also the fastest thing any game hardware has ever reviewed. PC World and Inquirer are reporting that it has broken every 3D gaming benchmark record. I'm sure those are just the first two to review it and are the first in a great wave of awed reviewers.
A Major Step Up In Graphics Technology
Blazing away at 430 MHz, the GPU is only slightly slower than the 6800 ULTRA...can't wait to see what the 7800 ULTRA (soon to come) clocks in at. There are more pipelines for pixel and vertex shader processing for faster 3D graphics rendering. This is where it lights our gamer fires! Get this: the 7800 GTX boasts 8 vertex shader pipelines and 24 pixel shader pipes, compared to the 6800 which hand 6 vertex and 16 pixel pipelines.
As if that wasn't enough, nVidia worked hand-in-hand with several big name PC game developers and optimized the pipelines to run standardized game code more efficiently and faster. So, even with the same number of pipelines the 7800 GTX would outscore the 6800 ULTRA hands down in most games.
Of course, the 7800 GTX supports PCI-Express and nVidia's SLI technology. This allows the card to work in tandem with an identical card each taking one half of the screen to render 3D graphics and games at roughly double the speed they would by themselves. We haven't seen any tests in SLI mode yet because no single reviewer was allowed two cards, but you can bet the SLI test results will be amazing.
