WidowPC Gaming Computers - Behind the Scenes at WidowPC
Always a fan of Amazon.com and Google, I've noticed that one of the things that companies I admire have in common is a certain straight forward honesty. A good example of the opposite of straight forwardness would be the tobacco companies and the Enron style companies. They spin issues and dodge questions and sometimes flat out lie.
What if there was a company, a company you work for or buy important items from, that not only told the truth when questioned, but took a proactive stance on releasing information about what is going on behind the scenes from the highest level. Here's an example that effects most of us -- what if the President of the United States had a daily blog that was actually written by him and let us know how he and his family first heard about major world events like the bombing in London or how he is handling a moral dilemma with which justice to pick. I think it is something we all want but think of as unrealistic. Perhaps the President doing something like that might be unrealistic. Maybe not. But I don't think doing it with a company like WidowPC is unrealistic at all. In fact, I think it will not only be refreshing for our customers to see it, but it will be refreshing for me and for our staff.
So, that is the thought behind "backstage pass" -- a personally written blog about the daily life events of running a small company. I don't think anyone has tried this before. I've already had people tell me that it may end up giving our competitors some kind of advantage over us. My gut tells me that's all "crazy thoughts" as Rudy Ruettiger says. So, we're gonna do it.
Welcome and wish us luck!
