WidowPC Gaming Computers - Feedback Really Works

Ask for feedback and you really get it.

On our home page, we are asking for feedback about the new website. Well, the type of feedback we usually get is "Killer site, man" "This rocks" etc. And that's great! We love to see that our customers are digging the design.

However, yesterday we got far more than that. It just happens that an Emmy Award winning designer (side note: I looked up the award and it looks like it was for set design) named Charles was looking for a new laptop after VoodooPC refused to give him a credit on a lemon of a laptop that he has had for a couple months and has only been working for a few days out of all that time. I can tell you if that ever happens at WidowPC, we'd do a lot more than a partial credit towards a new laptop...we'd have sent him a laptop way before this point. But I digress...

He ended up spending hours with me on the phone. I think I actually made a friend there. He certainly made one in me. I'm really glad that I was the one who answered the phone, because he had all kinds of useful things to say about the site. That evening (last night) the web team and I ended up staying late to implement many of the ideas he left with me.

We switched around the "What's New" section with the "Products" section and renamed them to be more focused on computer gaming...and lots of other seemly small changes that make such a big difference in the design of a website.

I think caring about what people think and treating customers like people really pays off and this is a sure proof of that theory. I happened to be the one to answer the phone when Charles called and I'm really glad I did. I don't think most of our staff would have been able to understand some of the obscure web design lingo he was throwing around like every day words.

I'm an ecommerce entrepreneur from way back (see management) and so I was able to speak the same language. But I could tell from when he started talking that he had designed several multimillion dollar ecommerce front ends. So, because I treated him like a person and gave him the respect that people deserve, WidowPC immediately benefitted from the advice of one of the top web marketing gurus. I really feel sorry for those companies that refer to customers by their service tag numbers. They totally miss out on people.
