WidowPC Gaming Computers - AMD On-Chip PCI-Express
AMD's new socket type, 1207, will have integrated PCI-Express. This helps explain the large number of pins. Benefits should include faster internet performance (10 Gigabit), lower latency for most hardware functions, faster video, faster sound and faster communication between on board hardware. This means better graphics and sound for games and home media centers. Additionally, it will allow faster performance for dual CPU systems. Let's hope the chipset is up to the task without thermal management issues (the traditional Achilles Heel for AMD).
