The FX-57 laptop is the latest buzz in the gaming hardware industry. A FX-57 laptop powered by the AMD's Athlon 64 FH-57 chip as the fastest FX-57 laptop available anywhere. Fastest Assembly and Shipping in the Industry

Currently, the FX-57 laptop IS PREORDER ONLY. However, the only parts we are waiting on are the dual core and FX-57 chips from AMD. AMD has announced that they will have them to us in late August, late September and late October. So, we don't know what do believe. One thing we do believe is these FX-57 laptop chips are in very short supply and are like computing gold to those dreaming of a FX-57 laptop. We highly recommend preordering now if you want to be one of the first in line. Otherwise, if you order when the chips come in you are more likely to get your FX-57 laptop in 2006.

For non FX-57 laptops, on average, it takes us about three to five business days to assemble your laptop. That is the fastest standard assembly time any where in the world for a truely made to order laptop.

Fully Upgradeable FX-57 laptop

In addition to being the most powerful FX-57 laptop, the Sting 917X2 is also the most upgradeable FX-57 laptop currently on the market. Everything on the laptop excluding the motherboard and chipset is able to be upgradeable with ease. Special underside access panels allow the memory, video card and battery to upgraded more easily than a desktop. The hard drives and optical drives snap in and out like Legos Even the processor is upgradeable. So, say good riddance to the days when the only way to upgrade your laptop was to buy a new one.

Athlon 64 FX-57 or Dual Core Processor with Cool and Quiet

The Sting 917X2 gaming laptop outperforms most desktops and is rated as "the fastest laptop on the planet" because of the full desktop Athlon 64 dual core or FX-57 processor power it delivers. Windows XP Operating System with Service Pack 2 + CD and Manual

Unlike many of our more skimpy competitors, WidowPC provides the full operating system with registration codes, shrink wrapped CDs and the Windows manual. A recovery disk with all of the necessary drivers is also included, just in case you want to start from scratch. Note that this is impossible with Alienware and several other competitors as they do not provide the full operating system but only a "recovery disk" with an image of the hard drive as it was installed on your computer. So, if they installed it wrong, you are stuck. Additionally, there is no way to customize your own installation or install with different hardware other than your original installation configuration.

Apacer DDR Memory

WidowPC only uses Apacer RAM in our FX-57 laptops. This significantly increases performance over the generic ram our competitors use, as well as greatly decreasing the probability of RAM failure. When choosing RAM, always stick with a high quality brand. We recommend Apacer, Corsair and Crucial (alphabetical order...and we weren't paid to say that). It saves money in the long term and significantly increases performance.

Revolutionary Serial ATA 150 Hard Drive Technology

The Sting 917X2 FX-57 laptop now supports SATA-150 hard drive technology. The Fujitsu SATA hard drives featured support a blazing transfer rate of 150 MBps while ATA drives support a comparably slower rate of 100 MBps. Additionally, eventually SATA hard drives will reach transfer rates of 300 MBps and maybe even 600 MBps and you'll be able to upgrade to those insanely fast drives using the Sting 917X2.

Fujitsu and Hitachi were chosen as our hard drive partners because have been the first to ship a SATA-based drive in the 2.5 inch form factor and the latest -- 100GB SATA drives. Aside from increased compatibility with laptop systems, the SATA interface also makes for a much more efficient RAID configuration. The SATA interface also makes it possible to support native command queuing, another first in the notebook market. Command queuing adds a nice performance boost to the hard drive because it allows for concurrent, multiple requests to the device. This is particularly effective at speeding up total performance when used with the AMD Pentium 4's Hyper-Threading or with dual core or dual processing capability.
