WidowPC Gaming Computers - Dell Laptop Explodes

Information technology news site, theinquirer.com, is reporting that a Dell laptop recently exploded multiple times and then caught fire at a Japanese conference. The Inquirer reader, Guilhem, was sitting just feet away from the exploding laptop and was able to catch several of the explosions with a camera.

Pictures taken by Mr. Guilhem, a conference attendee

From the pictures, it's obvious that it was a close call that this laptop was not in someone's lap at the time as it would have very probably been a fatal or near fatal explosion.

"For the record, this is a Dell machine," notes Guilhem. "It is only a matter of time until such an incident breaks out on a plane," he suggests. Guilhem managed to catch all the action in these amazing pictures.

At this time, Inquirer does not have any further details on what model of Dell laptop it was that exploded and caught fire in such a public display, nor any information on a Dell PR response or possible recall. Since the laptop exploded not once, but multiple times, Mr. Guilhem advises that if you should happen to witness such an event, "Don't try anything courageous/stupid, stay away, away, away!"

WidowPC extends it condolences to whoever lost all their data and had such an embarrassing and distubing thing happen to them. We also would like to extend our heartfelt best wishes to Dell in getting this situation remedied. No matter who made the laptop, it's in nobody's best interest to blow up customers!
