Two icons, both of which have seen better days, gave up and called it
quits. And there was great rejoicing.

effective today. Oddly enough, at nearly the same moment, in the greater
scheme of things, Toshiba finally gave up on the HD-DVD format, ending the so
called "DVD format wars" and allowing the BluRay format to achieve
complete dominance. What this means is you can finally get that BluRay
player, burner or BluRay DVD drive on your computer system without having to
worry about it becoming useless hardware. You'll begin to see every DVD
ever made rereleased in BluRay format. You'll also see BluRay players
become available on our products.
